Meet Boston based band Ellis, Coming to NYC May 25

“Ellis is a band full of people who love music and want to share it with anyone who will listen. Formed in 2009, drummer, Joel Silloway, and lead singer/guitarist, Matt Dalton, got together during high school while trying to find their next musical venture. The two clicked well right from the start and quickly assembled a band. Bassists and guitarists have come and gone but the group was lucky enough to stumble upon bass master, Kyle Best, right before things started getting rolling. Kyle’s addition on bass threw the band into a spiral of creativity, each song becoming an individual work of music even more different from the last. Time, practice and constant expression through their instruments eventually lead Ellis to their own unique sound.
The band put together a short EP for release in 2011 showing promise to any doubtful, elder nay-sayers. Gigging at every available opportunity, the band still piles into the Silver Bullet (Chrysler Town&Country) and drives to wherever the gig may be. Their real passion lies in connecting with others through music, sharing their creativity with the world, and enjoying live music wherever it can be found
Currently the band is based out of Boston, MA and focuses on tearing apart the city while meeting new fans, friends and bands along the way. Original songs are piling up faster than they can be recorded, but the band promises a new collection of sounds on their up-coming release dubbed, “Explorasive.”
Check out the band at www.ellishd.com, or, for the maximum face-melting, pelvic-thrusting, fist-pumping experience, check them out at a live show, currently all over Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. Or, if you’re more of the, “I’d-rather-never-leave-my-house” type, you can hear them on YouTube, iTunes or radio stations like Lazer 99.3 and Radio 104.1.”
